Character Overview
Tomo (???, Tomo) is Yozora's imaginary "air friend" in the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai series. Although considered to be only an imaginary friend by members of the Neighbor's Club (especially Kodaka ), Yozora thinks of "her" as her only best friend (calling "her" "Tomo-chan" and even stating to Kodaka that "she" is indeed real but would later admit that "she" is not). Yozora would "talk" or "share" her concerns to Tomo, but as the series progresses, Yozora would no longer have conversations with the latter. This proves that Yozora has indeed started to become comfortable with her club members but still she would share stories about Tomo to her club-mates.
Personality
As would Yozora describe Tomo, the latter is cute, smart, athletic, friendly, sociable, a good listener and added that Tomo would never betray Yozora herself. During Neighbor's Club karaoke planning, Yozora also added that Tomo is a good singer.
Role in the Light Novel/Anime adaptation
Tomo never really made a "physical" appearance in the Light Novel and its anime adaptation due to the fact that "she" is only an imaginary "air" friend made up by Yozora, but "she" is always mentioned by the latter and is seen talking to "her". "She" was heavily mentioned in the first chapters of the Novel but as the series progresses, her role seemed to lightly fade away, But despite that, "she" still remains as Yozora's trusted "companion".
"She" may have also been a part to the founding of the Neighbor's Club.

- Tomo when translated can mean friend, companion, comrade or pal. These are obvious nods at her relationship and role for Yozora.
